CHILDREN & YOUTH

Youth Group

Our Sixth - Twelfth Grade youth meet for fun, fellowship, worship, and service. We also mix in fundraisers to fund projects and Summer Conferences at Montreat. 

Basketball

First Presbyterian participates in the York County Christian Basketball Association league: children ages 5 – 8 (Biddies), girls 13 and Under, and Junior Boys, 15 and under. Weekly practice and games begin in January and run through March. The children learn not just the rules of basketball, but how we can "Glorify God on the Court" through sportsmanship and fellowship with other churches.

Eggstravaganza

Everyone can get involved by donating individually wrapped candies and plastic eggs. Our Youth group hides the eggs, and ALL children Fifth Grade and under can bring their baskets for the hunt. Come early for refreshments, face painting, games, and dying eggs and decorating cupcakes or cookies. Look for more information in the newsletter and bulletin.

Trunk or Treat

Our annual Trunk or Treat is held the Sunday afternoon before Halloween in the church Parking Lot or Hopkins Hall. Children come dressed in their favorite costume and congregation members come prepared to battle it out for the best decorated trunk and our Golden Pumpkin awards.

Live Nativity

Each year our Presbyterian Kids host a Live Nativity celebration in coordination with our church wide Christmas Dinner. Children of all ages participate (in costume) to bring Christ's birth to life for our congregation. The Christmas Dinner is held the Third Sunday in December.
